We did another playtest last night. All 4-LP characters: A Black Destroyer Wolf, a Troll Ironshield, a Hunter-Seeker Spider, an Orc Black Hunter and an Elven Prince.

The terrain was a two ruined buildings in an open field.

The troll, wolf, spider and prince all started about 20 paces away from each other (in a rough square). The orc started in the middle of the area, in the courtyard of one of the buildings.

Oh my. The troll moved forward with his lash and shield and chased the orc from the courtyard. The spider made for the central tower and started laying lines. The wolf stalked the prince. And the prince fielded a bow shot at the spider and missed.

Then the wolf spotted and charged the prince. He knocked him down and promptly ripped the young elf's throat out.

The orc ran from the troll and hid in another building. Meanwhile, while the troll was distracted, the spider crawled down from the tower and pounced on him. He proceeded to bite him (with little effect) and wrap him up in webbing. Meanwhile the troll had a "fall and crush anything that gets on my body" instinct. So as the spider got on to him he kept slamming himself into walls, trying to pin his assailant.

The wolf spotted the orc in the building and quickly charged him. The orc misjudged distances and failed to fire his loaded and ready bow at the proper juncture... The wolf summarily executed the orc.

The spider was driven off of the troll by the massive beast's thrashing around. (The hunter-seeker was actually wounded by it!) But the wolf came around and tried to use the Howl of Doom on them both. The spider was out of range and the Troll merely shrugged and snapped his lash across the wolf's back as the animal charged. The wolf passed his Steel test against the wound (If he had failed I would have invoked his Tasting the Lash trait and he would have submitted to the Troll. Oh well.). The fearsome beast managed to leap up the troll and clamp his jaws around his neck. The Numb troll merely flung the wolf aside--the animal gasped and retched from the troll's evil, Repulsive Blood. As the wolf ran from the troll, the spider leapt in and bit and wrapped the troll. Unfortunately, the troll was ready for him this time. The massive creature brought his namesake shield crashing down on the arachnid and cut him in half.

All in all a very fun brawl. It was an even match, each character had their own strengths and weaknesses that were exploited by the players to earn victory. Ultimately the battle came down to forethought, tactics and a little luck to eek out a victory. Which is how it should be.

I love this report - more of these :). And for another time wolf proved his superiority on the field (as i look from my demo games expiriences - you must know way of the great wolf to take care of him properly in fight!, you can't just stand and wait for charge... ;]).
Once again great report :)
