Okay, so how does this work exactly? We played another combat demo last night, using the sample characters. The guy playing Dunif wanted to shield-bash someone, but we weren't sure what to roll. At first I thought of it as a Push that does damage. The other interpretation is that we should roll Power to strike.

There isn't anything in the book on how to resolve a shield bash that we could find....

Personally, I'd just make it a Push and be done with it. IMO, a shield bash is a maneuver to use when your opponent has gotten Inside on you and put you at a disadvantage. You use the shield bash to force them a Pace away where you can deal with them without the increased Ob.

What do you think?

The thing that really threw us off was the fact that "shield bash" has IMS, add, and WS values on Dunif's character sheet. I like the push idea, so I guess that, if the basher gets one more success than the defender did one his ND roll, then he scores an Incidental hit, and pushes the defender back one pace. If he got three more successes, he'd push him back 3 paces, and score a Mark hit, etc....

A "Shield Bash" is a maneuver wherein the character is attempt to knock the teeth out of his opponent with his shield. Your standard shield is a Power 2, Add 2, Slow weapon. Thus using a Sword and Shield, alternating between the two, a character can Strike every action. Test Brawling or Agility.

A shove using the shield arm of a character is a perfectly acceptable option as well. It's simply a Push action.
