Hi folks,

This is an experimental forum. Since there has been a lot of interest in play-by-post games here, I thought I'd put up a forum and see how it goes.

Here are some guidelines:

• These games are run by volunteer GMs, not by BW staff or anything. Be nice.

• GM's who wish to start games should contact me first.

• I (as creator of the game, and moderator at the site) will not interfere in any way with the on-going games. Rules calls are at the discretion of the GM and I'll not undermine GM authority in this arena. If a player has question about a call, he can ask his GM -- not me -- and the GM may consult with me if he wishes.

• GMs are moderators in this forum, they can edit, delete and move posts. I expect all GMs to use this power with discretion.

• Players may edit their posts, but not delete them. Players found editing game sensitive info -- like a script or something -- will be asked to leave the game.

• Agreeing to play in a game here is an obligation. You are expected to keep up with the game posts. If you cannot, please contact your GM promptly and bow out of the game. Slacking off on posts ruins the enjoyment of everyone in the game (and those of us reading along).

• Be polite, cordial and civil. No flame wars or OoC cursing at the GM. Don't make Abzu angry, you wouldn't like him when he's angry.

• Spell check your work before posting it. I'm serious.

• Keep your responses short and to the point. (But not just a single word). Please, no novels. And no "Men of Very, Very, Very Few Words."

• You are obligated to abide by the guidelines set down by your GM. He'll give you the character burning guidelines and the game schedule.

• Lastly: Please have fun. We're all going to be reading your posts and living vicariously through your adventures!

Hi folks,

Seems like there's renewed interest in PbP. If there's any suggestions you have or anything you need in the PbP forum, please post to here. I'll see what I can do.

For example, when I was running the arena, I noticed that handling all resolution for all tasks was really a pain in the ass and weighed heavily upon my shoulders. Maybe we can talk about a way to devolve responsibility of resolution to the players?

Also, one last rule, this one is for the GMs:

• Players: Keep an eye on the GM and the story. If your game begins like this (http://burningwheel.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=598) and continues like that (for more than a post or two), please talk to your GM and encourage him to move the game to situations that address your BITRs. If the game is really, really boring like the one I linked to, feel free to complain to me and we'll mock the GM publicly.

Kidding.

Ok, I'm not.

Also, Here's a direct link to Stormsweeper's die roller. (http://stormsweeper.net/bw/burning-wheel-die-roller.html)

have fun!
