Paul does an amazing, honest and indepth review of Burning Empires for his podcast, Have Games, Will Travel. It's 70 minutes long, so sit back and enjoy!

Made my way through it yesterday - I loved the anecdotes from his campaign, and it's good that he got through a whole Phase before reviewing. I'd get my friends to listen except msot fo them couldn't be arsed with podcasts anyway!

Thanks! I felt that waiting until we finished Infiltration was the only way to do it justice. It's funny: we were sitting around talking about the episode before the game last night, and folks were mentioning things I didn't say. It's a testament to how rich the game is that I can do an hour+ review and still leave stuff out.

I was stoked when I got my latest episode of HGWT and saw what the topic was. Paul is a fantastic podcaster (I think he spends less time off-topic and laughing at his own jokes than any other gaming podcaster), and I have only played Burning Wheel, so I was interested to get such a detailed rundown on what was different about Empires.

Paul, I only wish you had done a review of BW in similar detail (you haven't, have you?) I would just get people to listen to that to convince them to play. You describe games in such a clear manner. (I don't think I'd ever try to start someone on BE without trying BW first, there's a lot of extra material there that would scare off casual gamers.)

It's also nice to hear that somebody else is not regularly able to schedule 4+ hour game sessions.:)

Next time I'm running or playing a BW campaign (and I really want to), I will.

Nah, I just figured I'd let my actions speak louder than words.

Just wanted to add my voice of thanks to Paul for a fantastic episode of HGWT (not that they aren't all great). It helped clarify a number of things for me about BE and has placed it firmly back on my "I must give this a go" list.

I'll also say "Yes please!" to something similar about BW.

Thanks for making the train journey in to London pass so quickly :)

- Neil.

That was inspiring! Now I gotta talk to the group about starting the Invasion Phase of Prometheus Chained.

Merci beaucoup. You can expect to hear more about BE as we continue to play it.

I guess Luke was right. Paul has announced that Episode 111 (released last night, I believe) will be the last full-length HGWT. I, for one, am bummed, though I'm glad he's not vanishing from the podcasting world altogether.
