whoa,
just checked the memberlist,
there are 72 guys who have exactly 0 posts.
This thread is dedicated to 2 things:
1)Making theories why they have an account but no posts.
2)Getting them to post.
Please guys. We want to get to know you.
We are all gaming geeks with nothing better to do, you're among your kind here.

Hi, I'm one of the 72
It's been a few months since I got the Burning Wheel and though I've read it I think that I have to read it again more thoroughly to be able to participate in a discussion about it. Since I haven't had much time lately the re-read is yet to come. I haven't burned a single character even, I have a mage apprentice halfways.
And I live near Barcelona and in Spain some games are unknown and even some games are not translated and my group of players does not like character sheets in English and every game I buy they find it strange, and besdes all this they are stopping to play any rpg nowadays. So it's very difficult I could get a BW scenario running in a short future. GenCon was a little bit far for me  .
Well, stop complaining now. Someday I will run it... someday...

hey, i wasn't complaining. I was just suggesting that all of those 72 people(including you) live more iwth the community of BW.
I, personally havn't got a single game to run yet, either. The forums are what keeps me alive.
so we are down to 71.
the purpose of the thread has already been fulfilled.
Anyway, Melmoth.
As you can probably tell, the forums are great. And we would all enjoy to hear more from you.

Manicrack makes a good point though, strengthened by the fact that you are from Spain.
Lets hear some old world input on the wheel!
I've given it a nordic flavour in my games.
Where at first read through the wheel may seem predominantly wetern fantasy it takes no more than some simple twists and turns you'd have a great reconquista campaign going. That should get your players going.

If you would translate all the word on the character sheet. I could help make one. Would you want it in Castilian or Catalan? We could also get Droz to make a Polish one; Negilent could make a Norwegian one, etc.
Even if the book isn't available in multiple languages, the sheets could be.
BTW - Gigamesh in Barcelona is such a cool store. I bought ¿Pasarán?, a Spanish Civil War wargame, there when my wife and I were in Spain last January. She had to drag me out of the store. It was the first place I saw the Confrontation minis.

Yeah, BW has a lot of Tolkien fantsay.
And that's really classic.
Hm, I might be able to translate the chractersheet into german,
with a lot of work even into french, but that's all I can offer.
I don't speak a word of spanish.
So how about this guys.
everyone starts translating the chractersheets.
I take deffinetly german(I am german, nobody says anyhting against it) and french if nobody else takes it(I will need some time with this one)
At the end we send the results to luke, if he wants, he can make them availible for download.
I got nothing to do anyway, I will get right started.

The Reconquista setting is a good idea but in Spain there's already a game about Spain Middle Ages (sXIV the corebook but with expansions until sXVII) and it would be easier to run such a campaign with this game. BTW Aquelarre is the name. Besides the Reconquista is a lengthy process, about seven centuries. I would prefer playing with that nordic twist, since that's a setting/mood that I hardly played. :)
As for the translation, you're very kind to offer yourself Nerdnyc, but I think I could do it myself in case I could convince my playing group to give BW a try. And you do suprise me, do you know Catalan? :)
And yes, Gigamesh is a good store. That's where I usually get my stuff. Yesterday I as there searching in the offer boxes.

I meant more that I could do the layout and make it a PDF if you translated all the parts. My wife does speak Castilan well and is going to take a Catalan class because we love Barcelona so much.

Ok, i cannot, actually make a german or french char sheet, simply because I do not have a programm to edit pdf's.
However, if anyone has one and is willing to do some work, I can send them a long e-mail with all the translations.
Anyone interessted?

Well, now I'm a little bit busy with work but if I can pull time I'll translate the terms of the character sheet to Spanish and Catalan (if the offer to make it unto a pdf is still up, of course).
