How are you to cast a spell with a presence or personal origin, that will affect the target in a favourable social manner, when it's obvious you just cast a spell?
How would you reconcile it?

There is no reconciliation. If you don't want them to know, and effectively negate the benefits of the spell, the surefire way is to not cast it in their presense. Cast it prior and sustain it coming into the conflict.
Make an Inconspicuous test to conceal your strange behavior before you cast.

Also, I've always liked the idea that using magic in social is really powerful but really obvious. Unless you're using a spell that lets you mess with their memories (or successfully make an Inconspicuous test before casting), then they'll know they're being influenced, but it doesn't change the fact that you won the DoW or otherwise got what you wanted out of the conflict.
I like the idea that in one-on-one scenes, sorcerers tend to dominate others easily, but out in the open, with lots of witnesses, it isn't going to get them far. But that's because I like my manipulative sorceres to be shady bastards behind the scenes full of megalomania -- and when they're confronted by the good guys, they disappear in a puff of foul-smelling smoke and promise foul retribution.
Like in the Disney movie [i]Aladdin[/u], when Jafar controls the Sultan. It's really obvious and blatant, but as long as he wins, it doesn't really matter. Of course if he failed or if he had witnesses, the gig is up. (Yeah, I have kids so a Disney example is the first one that came to mind...).
