still flyin' high from last weekend's monster burner beta-testing. :shock:
I played a combat spider with piercing fangs, bladed tarsus and a LOT of speed...
it was Ian (nasty troll whipmaster), Rick (wolf, howler), Danny (elven bowman), Luke (Orc spearman) and I, Spider.
the Elf was taken out first (although I think I lucked out when he missed his bowshot at me atop a tower!), by the wolf. I spent the early rounds running web-lines around the 3-d terrain (rooftops, tower) while the troll and the orc had a spat. as the orc fled, I dropped down on the Troll, whose instinct (surprise, surprise) was to fall onto anything that got on the inside...!
nearly smashed up against a wall (incedental wound), I re-directed my fight against the orc, arriving on the other side of the combat field in an instant (sprint 8pcs over the webs!). the orc fell to the wolf as I arrived (the Elf had already been chewed up by wolfie...) and I saw an opportunity: I jumped/charged (off a web-line!) onto the hind quarters of the wolf and bit! just an incedental wound...
he charged back at me, but was unable to pursue across the webbing!
after a match-up with the Troll, the wolf soon fled and I decided to seize the moment to strike against the Troll, despite a perch to descend from, and got, well, squashed like a bug. if I hadn't taken that wound earlier, I woulda had him!
highlight: sinking my fangs into the trolls neck only to get a mouthful of his revolting blood! aack- nasty troll!
the morale of the story: don't square off with a troll without terrain advantage...
