The wording for how Dwarven Armor works is a little confusing and I think I've been doing it wrong for awhile.

Previously, I thought it was like Superior Armor and 1's always get rolled. Last night, something prompted me to re-read that section and I can see that's clearly wrong; there's no mention of re-rolling.

But I'm not quite sure how the "ignore the first 1" thing works. Is that only the first one ever (on each location) and after that 1's count normally? Is it only per test? Fight?

I'm leaning towards you only get to ignore the first '1' ever, and after that you're out of luck. If so, is it possible to have a Dwarven Smith (or someone) repair that?

The way I'd interpret it is as "armor degrades if and only if multiple 1's are rolled on any given armor check." You'd still lose only one die of armor, but requiring two or more 1's really reduces how often it occurs. And note that as a side-effect, dwarven armor can never go below 1D.

You get to ignore the first instance of armor damage per piece. After that, the mojo is gone and it acts like normal Run of the Mill armor. You can't repair the mojo, only make a new suit of armor.
