Alain du Raincheval

As a younger son of a bustling Breton noble clan, Alain had no real prospects of inheritance, nor much value to his ambitious and domineering father. His uncle Robert took him on as a page mostly out of spite, but the two soon became close. Robert sent the boy off to better himself at the University of Paris, in large part to send him out of harm’s way; the animosity between Robert and the elder Alain seemed likely to come to a clash of arms.

Without oversight or responsibility, Alain fell in with loose company for a time, but eventually found his own path; a stint as an artist’s model led to finding and honing a hidden artistic talent. Now he has settled into his niche in Paris, grandest of cities… until today, when a letter arrived from his ancestral home, bearing his father’s seal.

Glad you like it! :)

Actually, the character started out as an exercise in min/maxing. "Hey, Artist gives two stat points for only four years! And Student gives you 10 skill points! I can do something with this!" And then he turned into an actual character concept.

And yeah, I just used the regular book. Maybe you just need to read it more thoroughly? ;)

Erm.

page 17 of the CB:
a "/" means "either/or".
a "," means "and".

Squire gets both, Artist gets on or the other.

sorry, you're going to have to drop a point out of your mental or physical pools.
