i just returned from a friend's house where i was shocked to see about 30 -40
rpg sourcebooks.
my question is: how many source books (not modules) do you own?

I don't think i should answer this question, but...

i have doubles of all the AD&D Books. I think that puts me at about 20 books right there, if not more. Aside from that: Legends of Yore, FVLMINATA and Underground are the only ones left on my shelf. Used to have all the Shadowrun and Vampire stuff, but that is all packed up somewhere. Also have Paranoia (1st Ed) and Twilight 2000 packed up in a crate, too. Do those count?

When I ran my small gaming store, which was always well stocked, my gaming collection always rivaled it stock.

I own over 300 different systems and thousands of books. *sigh*

I recently stopped collecting and am looking to sell off my collection.

considering the quantities of books mentioned here, i can only wonder who is the person who voted "not quite enough"

Not I. Since I am selling mine off (much to the chagrin of my local gaming store) I definately voted "too much."

Ars Magica and 3E make up the most of the collection. I think I'm done with both of those lines for now. My biggest regret is selling off my Harn stuff about 12 years ago. That hurts ...

Favs of the moment:

BW (obviously ;-)
Story Engine 2nd ed.
Adventure!

I'm also fiddling with FUDGE again (for short run Space Opera's) and still enjoy paging through Decipher's LotR game (it could've been 3E's more creative and inspired cousin, but instead it's 3E's more daydreamy, dopey, FREAK cousin who always loses her keys and doesn't know an elephant from a donkey)

Wow.

I only had the AD+D 2nd Edition Books, the Monstrous Compendium, the Shadowrun Rulebooks, Star Wars WEG Rulebook, and BW.

Hi, I'm new to The Burning Wheel as well as this forum. I found it by way of Claymore, who made a post (http://www.indie-rpgs.com/viewtopic.php?t=6964&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=) about integrating the combat system of a game called The Riddle of Steel (http://www.theriddleofsteel.net/) on their forum, of which I'm a member, and I have just placed my Paypal order for the Burning Wheel books.

As far as source books are concerned, I don't own any D&D, but I have HârnMaster (about 10 source books and over 20 books detailing the world), The Riddle of Steel, Decipher's The Lord of the Rings RPG, Chivalry & Sorcery: The Rebirth, Ars Magica, RoleMaster (I forget which edition  ), MERP, Steve Stone's Zero. Gosh, I guess I probably have over 50 or so. I've been thinking about getting rid of all the ICE stuff (RoleMaster/MERP) which would drop that number down quite a bit. I guess I'm sort of a collector. If my bank account/wife would let me, I can think of at least 5 other books I'd like to get my hands on as well; I can't wait to walk down the street to Gencon next month  .

Whoot!

I knew the conversation would help drum interest! Great! I am sure you will like the the game. BTW, that post I made to the BW forum is really heating up, if anyone wants to check it out follow this link: http://www.indie-rpgs.com/viewtopic.php?t=6956

And make sure to check out the downloads section for some free pdf downloads including a sample adventure. new monster lifepaths, and new magic rules. My favorites are the abstraction rules and the two monster lifepaths (I can't decide which one I like better :-) )

All I can say is hundreds... I've been gaming for 14 years. If you name a system, I've probably run it. And when I run a game, I get EVERYTHING for that game. I check RPGshop.com every day for new things to buy. Yes, I do have too much time and money.

I've got a TON of Call of Cthulhu stuff, but that's really the only system I've invested heavily in (as it's the only run I've been a consistant GM for). Other than that I've just got rulesbooks - BW, Champions, BESM.
