Forgive me if this should be obvious, but I don't know what the practical values are for pain-wise and lash-wise, two skills listed under the "Captured and Broken In" lifepath of the Slave Raider sub-setting. I couldn't find them listed in the CB, nor anywhere in the slave-raider download. Is the " ... -wise" a kind of blanket skill that can be adapted to various specifics (ie, pain and lash)? If anyone can help me out, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Yeah, friar, -wises are sort of catch-all skills that apply to various fields of knowledge that may not be covered in the skill lists. Essentially, instead of saying "Hey, how come there's no 19th century french poetry skill?", you can just take 19th century french poetry-wise. Wises are used just like any other skill- for pain-wise and lash-wise, you could test them if you wanted to see if someone was faking a painful injury, or if you were trying to distinguish between the quality of two lashes, or even if you wanted to lash someone and wanted to make sure it hurt, but not so much that your victim passes out. It's be up to the GM to set the obstacles, but Luke's said many times that players should feel free to come up with their own -wises as they see fit.

Thanks, Viper. That clears it up nicely.
