Anybody out there play Palladium Fantasy? I know, I know - its a guilty pleasure but I have fond memories and was suddenly seized by the idea that I don't have to let them go. Oh man, does that ever take me back. I'll always have a strange, probably rotten, soft spot for PFRP, just because it was the first non-D&D fantasy game I got my hands on and I thought it was a breath of fresh air! I don't remember why I thought that, but I did. I think I may still have Adventures on the High Seas, though, again, I'm not sure why I've held onto it.

The races look good, even if they are a reminder of an embarrassing time in my RPG timeline; a time when I thought Palladium was simply awesome and that Rifts might just have been some sort of revelation, maybe from some higher power. I'm older now and I know better.

why are the "head" traits call-ons and not die traits? what skill or stat do you reroll when you call-on your head to save your ass?

Look man, take that up with whoever wrote the MonBu.

I just copied what it said in the back of the book for Dog's Head. :D

Actually, I think Dog's Head was Co/Dt (no book at work).

page 321.
Dog's Head, Die Trait, 4 pts.

Gets you a snout to put jaws on and the ability to do a Strike and Lock action.

What trait were you thinking of?

Don't take it too hard. Luke's a cranky old man.

any way, aside from my crankiness...

these are cool! great way to bring in some old skool fantasy flava.

now you just need to do LPs for them...

Hrm, it would be cool to just use the Great Wolf LPs for the Wolfen. They take on a whole new meaning when they're anthropomorphs running around in a pack and howling.

rock and roll,

Nah, not the Great Wolf Lifepaths. Got to be all Roman in nature if I recall my Palladium days right. Or create roman lifepaths and mix 'em up with the Great Wolfy paths...

Keith, you are spot on, their military is Roman all the way.

And if you are talking about keeping the "culture" the same then with some minor changes, the Wolfen could probably use the existing Human LP's from the Character Burner. The Wolfen were pretty sophisticated, depending on the tribe, and you could just limit yourself to certain LP's based on that.

The Coyles' LP list is gonna' be short. And it'd be heinous. Bandits, Thugs, Thieves, Maurauders, Barbarians, Horse-Thieves, Pirates. Any profession that requires a little bit of work for a whole lot of reward (and a healthy dose of blood spilling) is spot on the Coyles.

Kankoran LP list is basically all woodland related: Ranger, Scout, Hermit, Tracker, Hunter, Herbalist, etc.

Hmm...the more I read this post, the more I think I might try to whip something up and post it. Rock on.

And of course each tribe should have their own set of cultural traits :)

PS. I also have a soft spot for PFRPG.

Oh, you're on my Palladium-loving brother. I'm all over it! Well, right after I write the Burning Midnight piece for this week...then I'm all over it.

Iron Claw, Ursa Rex, Two Axe Tribe...*mumble, mumble, mumble*
