So anybody else see this? I checked it out last night. The transitions and the in-frame cells were great at creating a comic book feeling unlike any other movie. Other than that, the movie was so-so. I liked the story, but I must admit I've never had a soft spot for plot-reveal via amnesiac's emerging memories and exposition via talking heads. I think that if there was a second movie, I would probably enjoy it more than the first. That's because this movie was all about how the Hulk became the Hulk. We wouldn't have to sit through that again in the next one and thus could concetrate on Hulky things.

I definately have to agree with your review, Kublai. I found that spending over an hour in character development before we saw "HULK SMASH" was kind of dragging. People enjoy the Hulk because we get to imagine letting out our own rage. Most of the movie was meant to impress that "King Kong" love that makes the big green monster "human". Not that Jennifer Connelly wouldn't have an effect on me, but they spent too much time on it. Next time they should just break stuff, stomp some super villains, and struggle to find a cure ala Bixby/Ferrigno.

I think most of this is right on the mark. I really enjoyed the movie but I see it as neccessary for cooler HULK movies to come.

incidentally I heard one of the most stupid sentances ever to escape a human's mouth after leaving the theatre.

"All Hulk did was beat things up."

AURGH!! Which part of "Hulk Smash" did he not understand?

Haven't seen the movie, but I am a fan of Eric Bana's.

If you get a chance sneak out to your local, cool-ass, video store and rent "Chopper." Bana plays the lead. It's a pseudo-documentary-recreation about an Australian serial criminal.
