Lifepath creation: concepts

Could anyone give me some hints on how to work with concepts when creating lifepaths? I'm currently making a set for barbarian (no, not Conan-like) characters in Hârn and since concept seems to be the alfa and omega of BW I want to make sure I understand this part. I would love to see a "live example" of a lifepath being made.

1st Question: Do you own the Monster Burner?

It's been ordered and should arrive later this week (hopefully). Is there more info on LP creation there or just more LPs?

The first half of the Monster Burner is mostly how to generate balanced monsters/characters and lifepaths. I think it will answer most of your questions, but I will gladly walk you through the process.

1) Concept: A Human Horse Farmer

2) Choose which setting it would fit into. This one fits fits the Villager setting as it needs to be rural, yet allows for a more comfortable life than a peasant.

3) Time: Raising horses takes time and to become good at it takes even longer - 8 years.

4) Traits: I don't believe raising animals makes you more interesting, in fact, I think it does just the opposite. No Trait bonus pts.

5) Resources: Horses are prized in any culture and many pay excellent money for one - 30 Resource points.

6) Bonus: Raising animals is a subtle art that requires empathy and will, therefore I believe this lifepath increases the mental aspect of a character - +1 Mental point.

7) Leads: Horse masters are sought after in many levels of society - Noble Court, Soldier

8 ) Skills: What does it takes to be a good horse farmer? Animal Husbandry, Riding, Horse-wise, Rope Use/Knots, Throwing, and Mending. One skill point for each skill adds up to 6 Skill points with an additional skill point to reflect the expertise of the rancher for a total of 7.

9) Lifepath Traits: Well, how does being a horse farmer change your personality? Bow-legged? Horse-whisperer?

Wooot! Just got the Monster Burner delivered to my door. :D I've read through the LP creation guidelines (pretty much the same as those posted in the downloads section right?) and I've come to the conclusion that I simply overcomplicated the whole concept thing. I tend to do that with many things. Anyway, I'll sit down and make the LPs needed for the setting and then post them here for inspection.
