Hey there folks,

I know its been a while. I will be back in force very soon :D

Anyway, abzu told me that there was a BW Lite ruleset. Where can I find that again?

Thanks

BURN ON!

Okay, I will piece through these and work out a version of my new Fortune's Tide setting, dubbed Epoch of Jade. After speaking with abzu at UberCon i decided to use the BW lite rules.

make sure you use the final incarnation of them. the first post describes a whole different game (which i didn't realize at the time).

As we discussed (and you convinced me of the error of my ways for my goal) I will be making it setting specific, but yes, I printed out that whole damn thread and am sifting through all the ideas presented there :D

I really like what's there. Somethings will stay due to the specifics of the game (like Heroic shade).

Once I finish these rules (BY December, DAMNIT!) I will post them for playtesting and fine tuning.

Okay so I had an interesting idea for handling BW Lite Roots. There is a minor departure from the norm but I think it only strengthens and simplify's. I am certain you'll all tell me otherwise. :?

So each stat has its exponant and root (1/2 rounded down) listed.

Skills are just bought with straight points, no opening. The appropriate stat for the situation is then added to the roll. ie. Your buying a sword and want to look for any flaws. You'd roll your Sword and helping dice from Appraisal or Metallurgy and add in you Insight dice.

Here is the real departure...

When you gray a stat then the stat's DNs are lowered for ITS dice. In the above example you'd roll your Sword skill (3 dice), +1 helping die for appraisal, and three different color dice for Insight. Since you have a gray Insight the skill dice are DNs of 4 while the Insight dice ar a DN of 3.

This, BTW, completely meets any concerns I have about graying stats as I have noted before.
