Has anybody Burned a samurai setting out there? I had a thought, that the Wheel might have the beginnings of a good system for Legend of the Five Rings.

The campaign BW spawned from is based mostly on the Orient and includes a heavy samurai influence. The human lifepaths as they are work exceptionally well for Japanese culture. Just remember that samurai=knight and you are good to go. To really kit out the lifepaths, you can swap or add skills as necessary.
And if you're looking for ninja, try using the Rebel Boxer lifepaths available here (http://www.burningwheel.org/html/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=129&mode=thread&order=0&thold=0).
Also, we consider the laminated samurai armor to be equivalent to chain armor.
You'll find that scripted combat makes duels between samurai sooooo awesome, especially if you use Intimidation right before the bout, as in a little mental duel!
