Remember that old video game Punch-out? With Glass Joe? That was a good game.

The new Knock Out rules (in the News section) are awshum! Now it's possible to take someone down with one punch! One Suberb shot from your average Boxer would cause that Steel test which would force a Faint result. Now I can be like Mike! (Tyson, that is.)

Let's figure out who can punch a person out with the first blow. You'd need a B7 to do a Moderate Wound to a typical character. That means a minimum of a B5 Power - not so outrageous. You'd need at least 5 dice in your Skill pool, so even a person with a B4 can do it in aggressive stance.

So a Brawler needs a minimum of B5 in Power and B4 in Skill in order to punch someone out in one shot. Those kind of numbers are fairly typical of any fighter, so this works out perfect! Of course, having a Blackjack or club only makes it easier!

Even a flurry a rabbit punches causing Superficials would work. "Jab, Left Hook, Uppercut! KNOCK 'IM OUT!!!"

I can't wait to try this out!

(Remember that anyone who burns a character with at least a B4 in any of the requisite skills automatically begins with this Special Move!)

I was just imagining how easy it would be to recreate a professional boxing match with the Stunning Blow Special Move.

When one guy is forced to Faint, the ref breaks the fight and begins counting. If the downed guy can get up before "10," he is back in the fight. Mathematically, that means he has 3 Exchanges worth of actions to get back on his feet.

If that is the case, as I suspect it is, would that character use his Axe or Brawling skill? Or perhaps one of the two, but FoRKed by the other?

This is ability is for use with the Brawling, Boxing, Blackjack or Cudgel skills. One of these skills must be rolled if you wish to force the Faint reaction. Thus smacking someone in the back of the head with an axe-haft would be a Brawling or Cudgel test (Axe could be used as a FoRK for the test).

Remember, you have to mechanically force a Steel test to get the Faint reaction. So, with an axe you could: Buttstrike, Blade Strike, Buttstrike. Doing three superficial wounds, Conan would have caused a Steel test on the third strike and forced his opponent to pass out from being smashed in the sternum by the blunt haft of his axe.
