What is Patis

Hi,

Just starting out with The Burning Wheel and having a great time exploring the system. I've been burning a Free Company mercenary type character and have a question. What is Patis, listed as a trainable skill under the Free Companyman lifepath?

A quick web-search turned up Patis: a fermented fish sauce. I'm assuming this is not correct within the context of the game.
