Hey,

Please, oh please explain to me why the use of a mace falls under the Hammer skill instead of, say club, particularly considering the difference in the two weapons (hammer & mace) and their uses. I am confused on the issue.... :)

The Shadow?

Well Luke I guess, but does this mean he has to wear a cape and a fedora from now on?

Honestly, I hope such discrepancies are dealth with in the Revision. If one sword skill covers every type of sword out there and their usage, why wouldn't the cudgel skill cover every type of one-handed blunt weapon like hammers, maces, and clubs? Why would the Throwing skill allow you to throw anything from a knife to a brick to a tree, but not a javelin?

Maybe we can gain the information in the Shattered Aft?

There's no information to be gained in the Shattered Aft!

I had forgotten about this, actually. Here at GHQ we've actually got into the habit of assigning weapons their own skill. It's good for the FoRKs!

<bitter grave digger>Yet another example of the way that even the game's most stalwart adherents are willing to over-complicate the beautiful simplicity of Burning Wheel's original streamlined design. Faugh. </bitter grave digger>

Actually I've always lamented the fact we didn't have individual skills for each weapon and something like arms law to assign different damages to each weapon.

But I've heard tell from a friend of a friend who heard a rumour that Abzu is quick at work on this as well as a movement and maneuver chart. :D

If we could just work stress criticals into the game it would be perfect. 8)
