gah! that's horrid!
(but a good spell. damaging, but not too powerful. Health dice should be recovered like Taxed Health. No permanent Health drain!)
You added Destroy and Tax for the double effect, right?

Yep! Makes it especially difficult to make the Recovery roll!
ah hah! you've just given me an idea.
Should we have a heirarchy of anima effects obstacles? If you wanted affect a stat, that creates the obstacle for the spell. But what if you want to affect a skill or attribute? We've got them all equal right now, but perhaps a little twiddling will add some flavor.
And... it's only a matter of time before people start pumping extra successes into Reflexes or Mortal Wound.
Hm. Should a spell be able to attack attributes directly at all? They can cause an attribute test, sure... but directly raising or lowering?
I was thinking (if we do allow them to affect) +1 Ob to anima for an attribute modifier, -1 Ob to anima for skills. Stats remain the same.
whaddya think?

Definitely sounds worth exploring. What if you have to pay for the Impetus (Enhancing, Taxing, etc.) for each stat reflected in the Attribute in order to affect the Attribute?
Personally, I'd like to keep the ability to affect attributes in some form. Afterall, a simple bit of damage can affect Steel and Reflexes.

The Abhorred Shears stay the same under the new distillation rules, although only because Luke suggested that Anima effects that target an Attribute qualify for a Majoris Sigil. Conversely, if an Anima effect targets a Skill, it likely deserves a Minoris Sigil. One that targets a stat needs neither.

I think so. I like lowering health and such.
Might I suggest saying that stats and attributes that are affected in such a way should gain a test based on the obstacle of the spell.
