The Burning Mirror of Ninazu (Ob 4^, Syllables 15)

Effect: This ancient and dangerous spell, guarded zealously by the Cult of Ninazu, gives a wizard control over the force Arcane itself. The wizard sketches a sigil of forbidden power in the air before him to invoke the Burning Mirror. The mirror itself is an invisible field of power surrounding the wizard, but corruscates with blue fire when activated. Successes above the Obstacle are applied toward the Obstacle of any incoming spell that would affect the Wizard. If the successes meet or exceed the base casting Obstacle of the incoming spell, the wizard wrests control of the spell and redirects it to his own ends.
