View Full Version : Progress report
Just curious how the revised BW and Magic Burner are going.
/me re-reads the Open Letter
Gotcha.
Okay, then how about the revision and annual? Feel free to not respond and then I will just assume the answer is "I'm working on it, okay? Shut up and leave me alone." :)
well, the new BW is looking like it's going to be 300 pages long. The only sections unfinished are the Detailed Example, Mini Bestiary, Index, Credits and TOC.
The book has seen one and a half editing passes.
I'll be releasing the Duel of Wits chapter as soon as I get corrections back from the editor.
The Character Burner is another story altogether. I never want to categorize and alphabetize 200 skills again in my life. Next game? Fucking simple. "Flip a coin. Yeah, tails. You win."

What program are you using to write this? Alphabetizing the game should be dead easy if the file is set up correctly. Stress on "should", not "is".

Always glad to help. :D
Always glad to help. :D
The other inmates hate it when I use the talking-Kevin hand puppet. They say it's bad for my progress and it's regressive. That makes Kevin sad, right Kevin?
Tell me how're you're feeling Kevin.

It's funny, but I live for organising stuff alphabetically and by category.
No, I mean it. Like, I have all of my books meticulously organised by author, series, year & title. Sometimes, when I'm bored, I'll pull them all off the shelf -- just so I can re-organise them.
I wonder how many points that trait is worth?

If it's just a character trait, it's 1 pt.
If you're particularly good at organizing, probably between 2 and 4 pts. Depending on how good you really are, of course.
Oh, and I'm very sorry for you, your future spouse and your future children.

It's not that bad. It's not like I sort my socks by fabric and color.
...though I flip back and forth between sorting my dice by number of sides and by color, organized by spectrum (with brown occupying the ultraviolet slot, and black and white as 'filler' dice).
Yeah. You know, I feel sorry for them too.

In my current D20 game everytime my ranger gets an extra attack I buy new color-coded D20s and D8s for him. Aren't all of us game geeks a little obsessive about our dice. I think that's expected. Now pulling all your books off the shelf to do it all again? That's just sick and wrong.
edit:<looks down, shudders.>

I thought it was just me. :)

Yag,
That makes me think of John Cusack's character in High Fidelity when he re-organizes his record collection chronilogically by girlfriend (or something like that) :D

I'd think of organisation as more of a training and less a 2- or 4- point dice trait. Or perhaps the two could work in synergy with each other.
*imagines the amount of dice that a character with greyed-out Organisation Training and a 4-point Meticulously Organised trait could sort in an hour*
