C'mon man! I expect more trashtalking! This is pitiful!
Oh, and I suspect that Counter-Push is not going to make you happy. :P

01-05-2005, 04:33 PM
Jeeze puffing yourself up aren't you? You only got 5 votes. :P Besides the poll is just a popularity contest.
Yagathai
01-05-2005, 04:35 PM
I think it was the demon facemask that gave me the edge in the voting. That and the spear.
jc_madden
01-05-2005, 04:36 PM
Totally was the spear. I'm not scrrrd of it.
Yagathai
01-05-2005, 04:37 PM
That's OK. The spear isn't scared of you, either. ;)
What's taking Kublai so long, I wonder? My script was pretty simple. What deviltry is he plotting?
jc_madden
01-05-2005, 04:39 PM
A) of course your script wasn't hard how difficult is it to write "Strike" 5 or six times? not very.
B) it's taking so long bacause of what I'M doing. that's the deiltry you should be worried about.
Yagathai
01-05-2005, 04:43 PM
Nope, it was pretty easy. ;)

No doubt about it. Kimdo is nasty. Too bad one of Kublai's characters is the originator of Tae Poong Do, who hates all Kimdoers!

Thankfully i am confident in Kublai's ability as an arbitrator and not letting his personal beliefs get in the way of recogonizing my uberness.
edit: PS TWO votes for me now baby!
Yagathai
01-05-2005, 04:49 PM
What's the dispute here?
Yagathai
01-05-2005, 04:55 PM
(If it helps any, in our group we ruled that you can't apply a killing-lock as the second half of a counter-lock. Counter-lock is defensive, whereas killing lock is neutral.)
jc_madden
01-05-2005, 04:56 PM
Nope, not it. I think it's just a lot of dice.
Kublai
01-05-2005, 05:06 PM
The dice.bot was so against yagathai it was pathetic!
Kublai
01-05-2005, 05:07 PM
(If it helps any, in our group we ruled that you can't apply a killing-lock as the second half of a counter-lock. Counter-lock is defensive, whereas killing lock is neutral.)
This is correct. They are abzulutely two seperate and distinct moves.

Kicked hard to the hip! Ouch!
Yagathai
01-05-2005, 05:23 PM
You've got two, don't you?
jc_madden
01-05-2005, 05:25 PM
THREE! shh dont tell anyone.
Kublai
01-05-2005, 05:26 PM
Sorry for the confusion, guys! I AM at work, after all!
jc_madden
01-05-2005, 05:27 PM

Yagathai
01-05-2005, 06:14 PM
(speaking of, I have about 30-45 minutes before I have to bid you all hasta manana)
Yagathai
01-05-2005, 06:21 PM
Stupid Kim-Do immovable object garbage. Faugh!
jc_madden
01-05-2005, 06:22 PM
Stupid hilt strike of spear doing same damage as spear! Faugh.
Yagathai
01-05-2005, 06:24 PM
What are you talking about? It did no damage. A spear is Pow+2, a hilt strike is Pow+1.
jc_madden
01-05-2005, 06:25 PM
Oh duh it was the kick that hurt, sorry. I don't even want to TALK about your 3 vs 3 and 5 vs 5 successes against my locks. JEEZ.
Yagathai
01-05-2005, 06:33 PM
It's as if it was mandated by Heaven.
Yagathai
01-05-2005, 06:41 PM
Damn! Outplayed again. I'm too clever for my own good. Or maybe jc is too clever for my own good.

To quote our DnD game this weekend.
Me: "I draw my bow and fire twice point blank at the Displacer Beast."
<GM begins to fondle his dice>
Me: "Uh does he have combat reflexes?"
GM: "No, damn and you held your action until the Paladin advanced thereby provoking the beast. Curse your superior tactics!"
Me: "Yep."
jc_madden
01-05-2005, 06:49 PM
Finally! Now we're even on the dice but on my terms. :P Time to bring home the pain train TOOT TOOT!
Yagathai
01-05-2005, 06:52 PM
Uh huh. You know, I have this really fun instinct...
Kublai
01-05-2005, 06:55 PM
Does that instinct kick in with any wound or only "measurable" wounds, i.e. Superficial, light, Midi, etc.?
If you were to use that instinct, it would have to be done on the first action of the first Volley to get any rewards, shall we say.
Yagathai
01-05-2005, 06:59 PM
I'm going to say any wound.
My actions stand as scripted.

Why, oh why did Po release his lock?
::faints dead away::
Yagathai
01-06-2005, 11:30 AM
Seriously. He had me down the same number of dice that he does, but now...
Thor Olavsrud
01-06-2005, 11:54 AM
Why, oh why did Po release his lock?
I thought it was all over.
Yagathai
01-06-2005, 11:59 AM
Nah. If I could have gotten a strike in before the lock was totally locked down, I would have been fine.
I will admit, though, that I was in a tough spot. My spot now is not as tough.
Kublai
01-06-2005, 01:13 PM
We're just waiting for jc to tell me how to split the dice!
I am so nervous!
Yagathai
01-06-2005, 01:15 PM
Goddamn it. I'm anxious for the next volley, in which all hell is gonna break loose.
Hurry up, jc!
jc_madden
01-06-2005, 02:13 PM
sorry busy morning, i thought i PMd him last night about the dice.
edit ahh I see my number of dice changed that's why. okay i've PMd the correction.
Yagathai
01-06-2005, 02:47 PM
Ah ha!
Well, let's see what goes down.
jc_madden
01-06-2005, 02:58 PM
I think you're about to own me, 9 dice of spear is not fun.
Yagathai
01-06-2005, 03:02 PM
Nine dice? Spear?
You underestimate me, my friend.
jc_madden
01-06-2005, 03:03 PM
LOL okay.
Po Gui Lo may be a patient man but I am not, Kublai hurry up and rattle them virtual bones!
jc_madden
01-06-2005, 03:17 PM
Congradulations Zhong!
...shoulda never broken that lock...
jc_madden
01-06-2005, 03:21 PM
Well I'm creating another character and learning from my mistakes!
Yagathai
01-06-2005, 03:21 PM
Thank you.
Now to re-tool my character.
jc_madden
01-06-2005, 03:22 PM
So how did I do for my first character and first fight ever?!
Yagathai
01-06-2005, 03:24 PM
1) Did you ForK any skills?
2) I got really lucky with the dice. If more of your locks had held, I would have been in a bad way.
3) More armor would have helped.
Yagathai
01-06-2005, 03:29 PM
You gonna post Po's sheet?
jc_madden
01-06-2005, 03:30 PM
1) Didn't know much about FoRKing till after the fight started, I mean I knew how to do it but I didn't have any skills with which to FoRK.
2) Yes the dice were not kind.
3) Clunky Armor Penalties would have sucked.
Kublai
01-06-2005, 03:37 PM
You did fantastic for your first time, jc! I was impressed.
FoRKs can help, sure.
Throwing opponents into things is the way to go. Armor doesn't protect from such damage.
Barefisted attacks can get a free-called shot, so more armor may or may not have helped. He still could've chosen to hit your face with only a slight Ob modifier.
Yagathai
01-06-2005, 03:42 PM
Against me, considering my particular specialties, sure. But in general, there's little mechanical reason to take leather over plated leather, except for the resource cost difference.

That's interesting. Those LPs use the new traiting system, but we're using the old one so you were able to squeeze 11 trait points with no required buys.
Ouch. Nice loophole. ;)
