Skip backwards, rush forward and bash them while they hesitate due to missed charge, skip backwards, repeat.

Charge does no damage. If all he does is Charge, all I do is fall down a lot.

Ok, the way Charge works is that if there are consequetive Charges and he fails to reach with the first one, he doesn't Hesitate. He just keeps Charging. After all, how else would one get the extra bonus dice for Charging across multiple Volleys?

Then, if he Charges you and knocks you into a wall or pillar, which abound in our arenas, you'll be taking some serious damage with no armor allowed.

I Avoid and keep him at distance! Since he's charging he's not getting anything out of Hands of Stone! He's probably only got Reflexes B3, so as long as I script my Avoid on the first Action of the first Volley (and I have a B6 Speed), I get B6 for my Avoid and then another B6 for my Natural Defenses. In all, I'll be rolling 12 black dice against his 8 Gray dice.

If I do it correctly, he either doesn't get enough successes or is too far away to reach me with his charge. Either way, he's Staggered. At that point, use my second Action in the first Volley to Aim. In the second Volley he's Staggered, so I spend my first Action Aiming. The Second Action I release my Bodkin Arrow with its VA2.

Third Volley I spend my one Action Avoiding. If he's Staggered, I start knocking my next arrow in the next Exchange. If he's not, I Avoid first.

A Troll who scripts Charge every action will never hesitate from a failed Charge until he actually gets to Roll his Charge against you and then fails to beat your NDs.

I am just trying to warn you guys. I've seen a 6 Lifepath Dwarf in Mithril be flattened in one action. It was sick!

I wasn't aware of this Continuous Charging "rule." But I'll take your word for it. Even so, his maximum bonus would allow him to roll G9 dice. I'd be willing to take my chances with B12 dice, especially since I could still use the second Action of every Volley against him.

Is there a quantifiable reason why not (anyone, not just yagathai). I have played many trolls and fought many elves, and I see little to no indication they can't be lain low like everyone else.
