For this years DunDraCon in CA I will be running a game of BW using the Under a Serpent Sun setting. The game is titled Family Vacation and is based on the short campaign I ran for some friends last year.

Well, I may speack for myself on this, but I'd say the game went really well!

First, let's meet the family:
Mom - Stay at home wife who is nearing the end of her rope. Raising 3 kids and taking care of her father-in-law is too much and she could use her husbands help.
Dad - Always looks at the bright side (and that's an instinct). He's a hard working guy just trying to get ahead. He's got a great wife and great kids.
Grandpa - World weary, he's so ready to die he'll gladly defend his family, preferably to the death. He also knows what the daughter is up to and has joined the club...
Daughter - She has a web cam and get's paid to use it. People joing her club to see her strip. Mom and dad have no idea.
Oldest Son - Doesn't even think he belongs in the family. Thinks the whole town is some sort of reality TV show and he wants out. Hardly ever home and most of the family is certain that he deals drugs.
Youngest Son - Life is a lie and death is the answer. My family must die, sister last because she's hot and I can sell her pics at school for drugs.

They pulled into a bank parking lot in need of more cash (they'd already had one flat tire while lost around town). Dad entered the bank. Daughter is on her back, legs in the air rubbing lotion on so all can see. Mom is lecturing kids. The boys are sitting in the back. Grandpa is very grumpy. Dad returns with $200. As he begins to enter the car two men jump them. The sliding doors of the mini-van are opened on each side and the men are going to climb in so they can quietly drive away. One man has a .45 and the other has a shotgun. They begin to enter from opposite sides of the van. Grandpa does the unthinkable... he whacks the shotgunner in the face with his cane and then dives out on top of the guy (defeding his family). Daughter screams and avoids. Mom dives at the gunman who avoids her (he was about to shoot grandpa). Oldest son and youngest son lunge forward towards the guy mom just hit. Oldest son is trying to hit the gunmans hand so he'll drop the gun, instead he ends up hitting the end of the gun. The poor gunman shoots himself in the foot. Mom changes her action from another attack to closing the side door now that the man is out and wounded. Only problem is that her two boys have already dove out of the car after the guy, AS she slams the door shut. She panics a bit, and then gets to watch the boys attack the wounded guy. The youngest son has pulled a sharp scaple from somewhere and is stabbing the guy while the older son grabs the mans pistol, stands up and blows the guys head clean off. Mom is horrified and takes 3 effective doses (I was kind to the player who didn't really want to OD yet). Meanwhile, Grandpa is on top of the other guy and cutting off his air. The man flails wildly with the shotgun, which goes off and blows out the front right tire (they've now had 3 flats in about an hour). So, what about dad? He's been in shock in the front seat. That's right, the family just fought for it's life and all dad could think as he watched in stunned silence was, Look how this brings my family together to work as a team. With the two men dead, dad finally snaps out of it and insists that the son hand over the gun. The son refuses until Grandpa stands up and levels a shotgun at him. Reason prevails. Dad is now crazy and mom is drugged. Dad starts to change the tire because they ARE going on this vacation! Mom wanders around and loots the dead bodies, but quickly passes out (probably because of the drugs the younger son was putting in her coffee). People start to exit the bank, so the daughter springs to action and uses nearly all of her body to distract people from the commotion outside. After a quick tire change they're off to the on-ramp.

Hey, player of the daughter here.

Game was great. It started out slow, with people giving vague directions, tires blowing, onramps unavailable for random reason, and as the obstacles kept getting stranger, the family keeps doing more and more extreme and violent things to get to the damn beach! It was a good game, with the players all pulling off their characters excellently, and skandall demonstrating what a twisted and disturbed person he is.
