Stiga the Barbarian versus Koron'das!

[Kublai]

Far below the city of Uvstarfen, a large, dank cavern plays host to the latest match between Champions. Although underground, this Arena is just as large as any up top. The darkness is illuminated by orbs glowing pale green, giving everything a soft, sickly aura. Reflecting the light back are thousands of pairs of large, blinking eyes. The Roden arrived from every nook and cranny of The Below to behold the spectacle that is the Arena. Their excited chittering and squealing echo about the massive chamber.

A long brass horn announces the first Champion! Slowly lowered from the ceiling, a thick, iron cage thuds as it touches down in the center of the Arena. Its gate slams open as Stiga the Barbarian bursts forth. In a bellowing rage, he breaks the chain used to lower his cell. Enormous muscles bulging, he snaps a portion of it from the ceiling as well! The Roden chitter in fear at this sight of pure brute strength! Stiga wraps one end of it about his right arm and swing it about as a weapon!

Interrupting Stiga's rage, a great crack of thunder shakes the cavern and sends half of the spectators fleeing into the darkness! A shower of debris and rocks falls from the ceiling and down onto the arena below. Emerging from the settling cloud of dust stands Koron'das. With no inch of skin showing, his polished black boots glint eerily upon the hard stone of the arena. Wearing long blue pants and a red hooded shirt he bears the mark of an Imperial Inquisitor on his left shoulder.

You stand 5 paces from each other.

FIGHT!!!

With a roar, Stiga hurls his mass forward, shield up and with his great chain twirling overhead! His black hair flowing behind him, he wants to get this fight over with quickly.

Seemingly prepared for the charging barbarian, Koron'das keeps his distance. As he retreats, he begins a sinister chant while tracing patterns into the air before him!

Roden scurry over each other as they rush back to their seats. None of them want to miss a moment of this fight!

Frustated by his opponent's retreat Stiga sweeps his chain behind him as he lumbers straight ahead. With a loud grunt, he whips the iron length forward with incredible speed!

Koron'das is showered by a spray of rubble as the stalagmite he ducks behind is shattered by Stiga's incredible strength! It's not enough to break his concentration, however, and the arcane energies at his command continue to coalesce before him. His hands radiate energy and glow with a supernatural light!

Many Roden, ever wary of the supernatural, flee into the darkness, afraid of what Koron'das is about to unleash! Most, however, stare in a hypnotic trance, awed by both Champions.

With a cry of rage, Stiga continues to build up momentum, hurtling himself blindly at his foe. Unfortunately, his long chain gets caught on the same stalagmite it destroyed, slowing the barbarian down and causing him to stumble!

Koron'das responds to Stiga's bumbling footwork with a dark and mocking laugh! He extends his arms towards the warrior and looks down his nose at him, eyes glowing with sorcery!

Peeking out from cracks and poking up from behind their seats, the Roden are mesmerized by what occurs before them! Some cry out as their Champion stumbles, some cheer for the magical blast that is surely about to be released!

Keeping away from the rampaging barbarian, Koron'das dashes to his left. At the same time, he exhales a glowing blue mist at his pursuer! The warrior breathes it in deeply and is instantly wracked by bodily weakness.

Feeling his strength leave him, Stiga desperately whips his chain at his tormentor! The chain tags Koron'das' arm but fails to ensare him. "The wizard!" he exclaims superstitiously.

Roden leap up and cheer as they realize they haven't been blown to bits by the wizard!

Whipping his chain back into his hand, Stiga continues to pound after his opponent. He seems rather relieved to not be a pile of ash and his confidence soars!

On the other hand, Koron'das seems quite displeased with the results of his incantation! Swearing in a whisper, he darts backwards as he regroups for his next move.

"Stiga! Stiga!" the Roden chant as their favorite Champion chases his prey like a cat chasing a .... well, never mind! It seems the spectators remember well the Imperial Inquisitors' attempt to purge them from The Below!

Koron'das sees that Stiga is armed with a thick chain and a buckler shield. He is wearing leather armor on his arms, chest, and upper legs, but his head is exposed. Around the arena are stalactites and stalagmites. Shallow puddles abound.

Stiga has been drained of 1 point of Power!

Slashing his dagger before him in an attempt to keep his attacker at bay, Koron'das attempts to buy himself some time for another spell. His glinting blade cuts through the air menacingly.

With a roar that shakes the cavern, Stiga cracks his iron whip at the sorcerer. With a loud crack, the chain connects with the sorcerer's forehead! Blood sprays and pours out of the wound, covering his face in gore! Koron'das staggers back, reeling from the blow! Eyes rolling back, he stumbles and falls face first into a puddle. The pain is too great and he slips into unconciousness.

The Roden jump to their feet and fill the cavern with whistles and shrieks of excitement! Already they are planning how to get the victorious barbarian back in his cage...

STIGA THE BARBARIAN WINS!!! He earns 1 pt of Fate!

The fight is over. Koron'das is incapacitated but not dead.

Stiga slowly advances towards the wizard, tossing his chain aside.
Stops and takes a look at slowly breathing foe at his feet.
Suddenly he kneels before him, rips dagger out of the incapatitated wizard hand, sinks it deep in his chest, cuts it open, and with his bare hand rips out and eats his still beating heart.
"THANK YOU CROM!!!" he shouts at the top of his lungs, picks up his chain and walks back towards his cage.

As Stiga returns to his cage, his Roden masters whip him for ruining the chain mechanism!
