Since this may come up soon in my froup, I was wondering, if someone's stat is raised to a level where the root is higher than a skill rooted off that stat, does that skill get raised free? And if a stat is epiphanied, do all skills based solely on that stat get epiphanied as well?

Once a skill is rooted from a stat, it's exponent becomes completely indepedent.

The shade, however, is not independent. Skills rooted (soley) in a stat that epiphanies, also epiphany. Obviously, this should be a very difficult undertaking. Take care not to be too liberal with the stat tests!

Alright, what about degraded exponenents, wherein a stats root is higher than a skill, but that skill has also been advanced, then a PC ignores that, if it's lower than the root, can it still "get rusty"?

Unused skills will decrease down to their starting Root Exponent.

I open a skill at 2 rooted from a Stat of 4. I increase the skill to 3, and the stat to 6 during play. Then I don't use the skill for a long time. It will drop back down to 2 - even though its Root is technically 3 now. The skill never drop lower than 2.

Does this help? :?

and you're a cruel man, using the Unpractice rules. I don't think I've ever invoked them...

In fact, I'm omitting them from the revision. They'll be a footnote on the site.
