View Full Version : BW Hardcover?

I was wondering if there was any hope of the Revised Edition being printed in hardcover?
I realize the odds of this are slim, but I thought it was worth asking. My original copies are showing some wear and tear even with relatively light use and I think a hardcover would last a lot longer.
The size of the current books, on the other hand, is great. They're easily transportable and don't brand you as a geek everywhere you go.

That's a good thing? I wear my geekness like a red badge of courage right down to my Neon Genesis: Evangelion messenger bag with NERV logo.

My sock puppet sure does have deep pockets! He loves paying $40 to $50 for RPGs, don't you Kevin?
Unfortunately, not everyone can afford to pay that much for an RPG. In order to keep costs down, BW will remain a soft cover.

Actually, I would be willing to shell out that kind of cash for a hardcover edition. Nevertheless I understand the argument.

As would I, the shelling out of the cash, not the hug.

I'm making arrangements to sell off some of my less vital organs over the next few months to ensure I get the new stuff that's being released with BW revised at the top of my list. Virtually everything in my body that I've got two or more off is for sale.

Sold! To the gentleman in the trenchcoat in the dark corner. Please follow the assistant to finalize the sale and arrange for pickup of your items.
If I've got two, I won't be needing one of them. I might be convinced to do away with both if the price is right. :) Children.... pfft! Who needs 'em?!!?!
A local farmer was driving with this carriage one day. Suddenly he sees a snake, and first he thought to drive over it. But at the last minute he changed his mind and turned his carriage. And what do you know, the snake turned into a sorcerer, who told that he had been cursed to live as a snake until someone would show kindness to him.
- To pay you for your help, the sorcerer hissed, I will give you three wishes. But whatever you wish for, your neighbor will get it double.
The farmer thought for a moment, remembering that his neighbor had turned to evil ways and always spoke against him at the Thing, and wished first for one thousand coins worth of silver. The sorcerer hissed and made strange, sorcerous gestures and said:
- Now you have one thousand coins worth of silver, but your neighbor got two thousand.
The farmer thought some more and asked for a young, beautiful wife. Again the sorcerer hissed and made gestures and then said:
- Now you have a wife who is young and beautiful, but your neighbor has two wives.
Now, with the third wish, the farmer really had to think, and after a time he asked the sorcerer with a somewhat trembling voice:
- Tell me, does it hurt much if you remove one of my testicles?

Heh! Thanks! I wish I could take credit for it, but Mikko Metsälä contributed that one to the Heroquest site for the Jokes Orlanthi tell. I just de-Glorantha-ized it a bit and swiped it.
