gray weapon vs black armor

Wasa there something offical ever said about black armor not being able to stop gray damage? Did I see that in the books or on the forum? Did I see that at all?

I don't recall seeing anything specific. IMHO, I would suggest that black armor should be able to stop a gray weapon. Gray weapons are deadly enough without being able to bypass armor.

yaeh, I would just think that gray weapon have an increased VA. Maybe? or maybe it gets through but the armor loses a die automatically? heehee, I LIKE that!

Yeah, we've always played with the rule that Black can't protect from Grey.

Imagine Hercules punching some guy and is Bronze breastplate stopping the blow. Pshaw!

I don't know, I'd think that that was very heroic and quite in line with the myths. What's more , whats important to those myths is whether Hercules is on a angry, jealous rampage or is flexing his muscles in hubris. Then he may mangle the breastplate but the mortal may very well survive to tell the tail.

If on the otherhand, Hercules was defending himself from a military bully set on laying the demigod low well then Hercules' blow would have to kill him instantly, armor or no, and he would regret the life he had taken (or the pain it might cause the soliders loved ones).

One might even say that due to the moral connections of myths the armor is insignificant to the question and merely becomes a tool to tell a story.

Anyway, last I checked (30 seconds ago), armor and shades are already ensconced in BW canon. Page 181 of the BW.

OK, so black weapons can penetrate grey armor (albeit with no VA so it isn't very likely) but grey weapons can't be stopped by black armor.

I guess there is a weird sort of consistency there, in that the grey item only needs to one success to totally overwhelm the black item (one success to hit, one success on the armor roll).
