My order for Burning Empires (Book + PDF) got all messed up. Part of it is my fault. I detailed this in an email sent to the account listed in the PayPal email (abzu?), but I didn't get any reply.

My part of the problem is PayPal. I haven't used it in years, so I updated the billing... credit card & billing address. This doesn't do anything for the shipping address in PayPal thoughl, so my book is being enjoyed by someone else at my old apartment.

I didn't think to confirm the address in the original email from the Burning Store since I basically never use PayPal & haven't used it in probably almost ten years. (I've contacted the apartment manager, but I'm thinking it's a write-off for me at this point). Amazon spoils me, I guess, since the default for your shipping address is your billing address... that "feature" isn't available in PayPal, I guess.

(Cool story bro', I know)

---------

However, my PDF download isn't available either... so I'm 0 fer 2 at this point.

While PayPal was waiting to process to payment, the Burning Empires order showed in "My Account".

After the payment went through, the Burning Empires order disappeared. "My Account" says that I didn't make any orders.

My PayPal account is linked to one of my old email addresses, which is not the same account as my Burning Store account email, if that makes a difference.

If you can fix that part, that would be great. At least it won't be a total loss.

Thanks Luke. I appreciate the response.

I'm having issues with the download now (tried twice... once stopped at 4.8 MB, second time stopped at 11.4 MB, so the archive is definitely "invalid" since the d'l never actually completed. It just stopped).

I guess I'll try again later & hope for the best...

I have players to harass about their BW concepts anyway.

Gah... I just tried it again. Didn't work again (it just stopped at 5.7MB), now I have 0 downloads.

It's like live blogging. I keep refreshing to find out what unbearable thing happens next!

Find me a way to transmit 25 MB of data to you, and I'll send you the PDF.

Not to jump into the conversation, but here are two ideas: Create a mediafire account, upload it, and then remove it once it registers 1 download. That's one way. FTP is another, and probably a lot better, if you have someplace on your server you'd let Beer grab it from. Then you just delete it.

Create a folder on your server, for example /ForBeer
Create an FTP account on your server. Example: Beer
set the home folder for beer to /ForBeer
set the permissions so that beer has only access to that one folder. (probably automatic)
Put the file in that folder.
Email beer the username and password. Once beer downloads the file, or 45 days later, delete the account and folder.
