I don't really understand the transition. I don't understand how much G3 damage does to someone with a Black health and I don't understand how much B10 does to someone with a Gray health.

If someone could explain this to me, that'd be swell.

The damage is a continuous spectrum. So it's something like
B1----B16-G1----G16-W1----W16

So if someone has a MW of B12 and they take G3 damage, G3 is definitely to the right of their MW tolerance, so they've taken a very nasty MW.

For the B10 to someone with Gray health it depends on how exactly their wounds are laid out. There's special rules in the character burner for determining the wound tolerances of something with a Gray MW. I don't have it in front of me, but I'm pretty sure at the very least their superficial and light wound tolerances will still be in the black wound track.

So when determining the type of wound, just think of the damage track as a line and anything to the right (or right on) of a given tolerance (but to the left of the next highest one in the case of non-MW) will do that kind of wound. And of course anything to the right of a MW will kill them (barring treatment and spending the Persona for will to live).

Jeremiah is right on the money. A G3, or even a G1, is a mortal wound to anyone with a Black mortal wound tolerance.

As for how much damage a B10 would do to someone with a Gray Mortal Wound, take a look at Gray Mortal Wound on page 369 of your Monster Burner to figure out how it's done. As an example, a Daemon, which has a G11 mortal wound, would take a Light wound from a B10.

Got it. Thanks folks.

It might be time to re-read the MoBu.
