Hi, I haven't been around for a while and so could have missed something
but;

Yagathai mentions something called acrobat skill in the Burning Wheel
forum 'getting FoRKed'.

Should that be a seperate skill or just use the agility root?

It's not mentioned in the human setting for jester or performer.
Nor is in the appendix.

Maybe there should be a circus setting?

I'm a sucker born this very minute. Let the big top reign supreme.

*mumbles something about firebreathing clowns .... hehe*

I remember from BitD (Back in the Day) the dominant First edition RPG in Unearthed Arcana's had a pretty detailed description of acrobats as a subclass of thief that later in the 2nd edition of the dominent RPG became a kit ... if you have access to these materials it might make a good starting point for developing such a lifepath.

Coulrophobia: An extreme fear of clowns
Etymology: Greek kolon or kolobathristes

Acrobatics would be a skill with a Speed root. Just sayin.

I use this skill in my campaigns as such:

Acrobatic Training
Among other feats of arial accuity you may script an avoid while standing still. Additionally there would be a bonus for positioning in the new rules +2D. Of course Acrobatic training could use Speed as a FoRK for some tests such as attacks, avoids, and jumping. Lastly you can roll a Speed test to get up in one action instead of two.
