Concept: (see subject/outright muchkinism)

Character Name: Timothy Volquartson

Background:

(The background should contain as much justification as possible in the vain hope that the GM will allow you to play this PC)

Lifepaths: Born peasant, Bannerman, Footsoldier.

Age: 15 (naturally)

Stats:

Per: B4 Will: B5 Ag: B6 Sp: B5 Pow: B4 For: B4

Attributes:

Re: B5 Ste: B8 He: B4 MW: B10 Hesitation: 5 Faith: 0

Skills: Sword: W6, Conspicuous: B2, Armor training+

Sword was bought as a grey skill and shade shifted using child prodigy (This instance falls into the abuse at your peril section of the character burner)

Yes, he will be using beginners luck a lot. But who needs all those sissy skills with a sword skill like that!

Resorces: 16

Gear: run of the mill sword/ poor chainmail

Facets: local reputation - The brat that's really good with a sword

Contacts: Minor - men of my old unit who are all jealous of my ability

Traits: Child Prodigy, Gloryhound

Beliefs:
- I am better at sword fighting than anyone else
- Adults must learn to respect me
- Hates those who do not recognize my mad skillz

Instincts:
- Sleeps with his sword
- Charge the enemy
- Take any chance to boast of my prowess

I will eat my hat if any GM ever allows a PC like this into thier game.

Dude, you failed in your Munchkin Quest.

You need the Perception to be 5 and Will 4 if you're going to wear armor and maintain the Reflexes of 5!

I don't see a problem with playing this guy. Whatever. A Sword skill will get you far, but not everywhere.

(bows head in shame)

Wait, I know! I'll just ditch armor training and the armor! Who needs armor with mad Sword skillz like that! Or, Ill just make per 5 and will 2 before the +2 prodigy bonus kicks in, although my steel would fall to 6, and Hes to 6.

As a GM, I'd have serious problems with someone coming in the game with a W6 skill in anything.

Heck, I see a lot of posters express concern when they see new PC's with B6 in a skill!

Hey Jaeger. Sorry to inform you of this, but as a legal professional I have an ethical duty to inform you of some of the grave legal consequences your actions might entail. Burning a starting character with a white skill is justifiable homicide in New York state. Let me put that in laymen's terms.

You bring a 15 year old starting character with a white skill to the GM, with some lamo, cliched, hackneyed back story to justify the skill. Hell, you bring a white skilled 40 year old character to the GM with a pulitzer prize winning back story . . .

. . . GM looks at character and nods his head.

GM pulls out a rusty steak knife, complimentary with the new BW second edition, and proceeds to saw your freakin' head off.

GM webcastes your beheading (it gets picked up by al jazeera).

Feds come for GM.

GM walks after short trial because the jury finds that a reasonable person would have done the same exact thing in those circumstances.

Dude, white anything is something only a GOD is supposed to have--but if you can get this past your GM then more power to you . . . and if I were you, just to be on the safe side, I'd try it in Texas . . . where there are no defenses to homicide.

My only regret is that I could not munchkin up 3 more trait points to give him, Affinity: Sword.

Fourth Horseman,

I feel that I should point out that this PC was burned in the Peoples Republic of California. If a GM so much as hinted at the slightest amount of prejudice over my choice of skill color, I would slap him with a discrimination lawsuit so fast he would have to sell all his 3.5 corebooks just to cover legal fees.

If I were to burn this PC in Texas I would change his first lifepath to: Born Texan.
This would then give me enough extra points to move everything to the white shade.

If I were to burn this PC in Texas I would change his first lifepath to: Born Texan.

And when you did this your GM would accept the character and hand it back instantly. Wiping a tear from his eye he would say, "You had me at born texan."

Or you could drag him to my table, I'd say hmmmm . . . ok.

The a few failed postioning tests, a few skilled elven archers with great bows and back to the CB with you.

texan, law suits, nah here's a good dose of norse rage.

Twang drrrrrr thud.
