Hi there! I just registered on the forum today for that express purpose. I'm starting a PBEM game and am thinking of posting it here. I have to see if it's ok with my player, if not i may start a new one in another part of my world for the forum. Not dice heavy at all, mostly a storytelling experience backed by character stats. If there is a need to roll though, we can. The setting is one of my own and is a low-middle ages type world, think the beggining of Excalibur except there's no sword to make things better. If there is much interest in the game i will start a thread on the ins and outs of my setting and character guidlines.

I just purchased the two basic system books for Burning Wheel, and was thinking that I need to find a group with whom to play, particularly since I'm in a semi-rural area, which makes finding any kind of roleplaying game in which to participate a challenge, let alone one in a particular system. So I'm definitely interested if you decide to host a game here on the forums, and I'm quite flexible as to the types of characters I'll play.

I'm always a sucker for PbP. The pessimist in me might say I like to create characters. :)

The good part about play-by-post over email is that it's easier to look back and see what's been posted already; the formatting makes sense and there don't have to be endless quotes-within-quotes if you want to keep the thread of the game together, and it's easier for players to see whether their replies have gone through properly (checking to see if the reply is posted on the board versus wondering if the email is lost in cyberspace).
The possible downsides are that they will need to make accounts on the forum if they haven't already done so, won't have replies right in their emails (though you can subscribe to threads on this forum and get email notifications), and a forum isn't as easy to hide at school or work (not that that's an issue for me; as a substitute teacher I don't really have an opportunity to sneak onto computers at work anyway...)
And yes, creating characters is fun :)

I'd be interested in joining a PBP. I have all of the books, and have run the Sword for one group.

well, i'm finally back in the land of the living. So if anyone wants to play drop a line on here and I will start posting details. It will be a very standard game. Assume vanilla rules, 4 LP max. If I can get at least 3 by friday we can start up. This being burning wheel I will tailor the campaign start to the characters.

The bare-bones start will be this. The characters are stuck in the Last Great City. Besieged by the Evil Men and Orcs the Empire is waning and we are on the cusp of a Dark Age...can the characters carve their own place in it?

Looks like you've got your three already, but if you could use one more, I'd be glad to play.

Don't know if they will all respond. Go ahead and Burn you up a character the first Characters are in!

Is there room for one more, perhaps?

Also, I am changing the premise. I would really like to start lower-powered. I am thinking possible a campaign focusing on a gang of street kids (3 LP) and the gang works it's way up and out of the streets.
