View Full Version : New BW Character Sheet

I'm in the process of making a new 4-page character sheet for BW. The original one is good but me and my players felt that there's not enough space to fill out advancement checks, Ob:s and that type of stuff. The sheet I've made uses a slightly different solution and hopefully there's more space avaliable on it. So far, I've only made 3 out of 4 pages, and I haven't even printed it myself but was hoping to get some input from the wheelheads. So download it from HERE (http://www.bronzeworks.org/downloads/BW_CS_4pp.pdf) and try it. Any input is good input. ;) Just don't rewrite actual campaign characters on it since it's bound to have at least some bugs.
EDIT:

* Fourth page now complete containing Items, Valuables, Training and Contacts
* Added Artha to page 3
* Tables on page 2 redesigned (look only)
* Various minor adjustments
I like that you put the advancement chart on the sheet! hurrah!

Yeah, that was one of the few drawbacks of the originals. I'm a fairly math-oriented person myself with good numerical memory, but none of the people I play with have any kind of memory it seems. While most of them manage to learn tables, rules and game formulas after a few years of gaming, I sensed that the advancement table was something they needed. Especially for the occations when dice change due to injuries or bonuses. Right now, there small space before the Routine/Difficul/Challenging boxes can be used for either Ob or # tests needed. I suggest Ob and fill out the circles you've already passed so to speak. Few skills will be raised more than 2-4 steps so there won't be that much wear on the actual sheet.

Very nice sheets, big spaces as well. I especially dig the number of slots for different weapons so you can calculate several weapons at a time.

Very Nice. I may use these myself.
First Suggestion: I think there should be an aptitude column under the learning section. So much time and effort is put into advancement here it seems like a big hole to me.
I have to say I am impressed. I find so many character sheets lacking in both form and function and you did a good job with both.
What sort of info will be on the 4th page?
I nominate Angaros for Forum Artha!

Thank you all for the kind words. :)

There is space (indexed with a '#' character) left of the boxes intended for aptitude. Or did you mean space where one can write aptitudes for each root stat set?
The fourth page I had intended to fill with things such as equipment & valuables, land & titles ... that sort of stuff. Ideas are much appreciated. Perhaps I should make space for resources and such stuff.

At the bottom of the 3rd page I think you have room for Artha. :)

New version is up!
I've been thinking a bit about the space needed for skills and skills being learned. As my campaign is fairly young, at least counting sessions using BW as system, I have no clue as to how much space is needed. Is 9 slots for skills being learned enough? Or should I cut away 2 or 4 skill slots (there are 30 right now)?
Hi Angaros! It looks good. I'll warn you now though, be prepared to make some changes to it when the revision comes out!

Oh, you know. Stuff.
You'll need spaces for your Circles and Resources abilites. The Faith/Grief box is probably best left blank, since it could just as easily track the Greed, Hatred or Ancestral Taint attributes.
You'll want space for your Relationships (which is already there more or less) and whether Enmity has been invoked. You'll want space to track your Affiliations and Reputations, as well as their scope and magnitude. You'll also want a space to note which Circles you actually have access to.
And a few more things as well.

Heh. I was just trying to answer Don's questions about what changes would be needed for a Revised character sheet. BTW, Ancestral Taint is from the Monster Burner.

Doh! That gives me some ideas though; I'll have to take a closer look at that.

I really like it.
May i suggest faint lines in the big boxes?
I would cut down on a few of the skills and fit in a few more Learned Skills.
I like the Artha section thus far.
Please forgive me if I use your sheet concept for my own. i like the way the skill advancement is set up.

I tried putting faint lines in there but decided against it. No lines makes me think of the old Warhammer FRP sheets = yummy feelings of nostalgia. And it looks better IMO.

Wrecks the symmetry but the functionality is needed. :)

No problem. Use away! 8)
