So how many GMs on the forum have players on the boards as well?

Secondly, do your players cross post arguments and discussions to the board?

Do folk use the boards as a mediation device?

If your creating something for GM approval, like traits, spells, LPS, etc. do you think this should be a public conversation? Is there any sense to folk that posting to the boards, viewed as "the experts," is tantamount to asking dad when mom says no?

thoughts?

I'm a GM and some of my players read posts here. They haven't posted yet, but that may be a question of time only.

I have no problem with my players seeing and reading Traits, Spells, LPs, Rules Addendums and such. Whatever comes to use in our campaign will need to be discussed among ourselves. I wouldn't accept a ruling from the board before we talked about it in the group. I wouldn't ignore a board ruling though, especially if it explicitly contradicted an interpretation I had made.

A neat addition to the BW forums would be a GM only section where GMs could ask advice on plots, adventures and so on. There are things I wouldn't want my players to read and that people here could have some great input on. :) Traps, poisons, demoralizing hooks and so on.

I think the boards qualify as an excellent Peer Review resource for spells, traits, and monsters. Sometimes, if a player really feels like he's being shafted by a prejudiced GM, it may be helpful to both to get more opinions on the matter. That way, when the player is shot down by perfect strangers, he can't really continue to argue, can he? The opposite is true, as well!

I have players read these boards all the time and never has a bad thing come from it. It also serves as a fine way to create a BW consensus on rule vagueries. We should all be playing the same game, right?
