How do you interpret the rules about recovery time for wounds? The rules states that each success of the obstacle reduces the overall recovery time by 10%.

Does that mean that beating by five success decreases the time by 50% (overall time reduced by 10% per success) or does each success reduces the remaining time by 10%, which means that 5 success only reduces the time by 41%?

It looks like I'm splitting hair, here, but I am specifically thinking of magical healing. Does 10 successes on the health test equals instant healing, irrespective of the wound?

- if the test meets the obstacle, then the wound reqies maximum healing time
- if the test exceds the obstacle, then each extra success decreases the overal recovery time by 10%

For each success you get over OB of the wound you can substract 10% from the current recovery time. So let's say that character suffered midi wound (that's OB 3 wound) and has B5 health., he had 4 succeses on his recovery test (1 over OB3 obstacle) now he can substract 10% from time requied to heal up this wound. If we use random recovery times from BW page 166 midi has 2D6 (weeks) recovery time, player rolled 8, so wound will heal up in 8 weeks after succesfull health roll, but he rolled 1 over this obstacle, so 8 weeks = 56 days - 5 (10% (rounded down) ) = 51 days will be needed to fully recover from this midi wound.

Does 10 successes on the health test equals instant healing, irrespective of the wound?
In above case your character would need 13 succeses on his B5 health, you could of course spend some artha to boost up your luck, but that would be at least 1 deeds point (to double your dice to 10), and additional 2 persona points (to add 2 bonus dice - you can't add more persona dice to the test than half of your tested stat/exponent). So that brings us to 12 black dice vs. OB of 13 - now let's say that you were lucky and got those 12 succeses. That would decrease healing time by 90% - so 56 - 50 (90%) brings us down to six day.

In my haste to post my question, I concentrated on the 10 success instead of saying 10 success over obstacle, which makes even more unlikely that anyone will achieves the 10 success over a Mortal wound and get up the next morning without a bruise. So the whole questions becomes rather moot.

Thanks.

Anytime.

And when you're recovering from MW, thare is always quite a chane of failure, that's why you'll most likely need help of surgeon or herbalist (because they can add their extra to your recovery roll), even with all help a lot of artha will be needed to succed.

fastest MW recovery we ever had was 6 months. He had a G8 Health, deeds points and a buddy with a G6 Herbalism and lots of help.

Anyway, yes each die counts for 10%. Five dice over is 50%. Minimum is 10% healing time.

pssst. Fastest healing time from the MW was 4 months, remember? It allowed a 2 month adventure on the side! And don't forget he had the Wolverine trait, as well!
