Grrrrgh howls his triumph as he smashes open the Dwarf's armor. Luckily, the poor hero is not alive when the beast begins feasting.
(Dwarf on the half shell. Yum.)

Hey guys... Great fight! I'm curious about the use of Dwarf-wise and Mine-wise in a Fight! Is that in the rules that you could Fork those during a Fight!? Or is it just something you're having fun with?
Sure you can FoRK skills (into other skills) whenever they're appropriate - normally that's the GM's call but we didn't have one.

True. It just seems dicey (har har), and I haven't heard of anybody FoRKing things life "Forest-wise" into their "Axe" skill when fighting in a forest. Then again, I might allow it on an Engagement roll or something. Hmmm...
I took pains to bring them into the narrative description when I did bring them in. It's not just in the dice it's in the color too. I was justifying the rolls to my internal GM
Won't work in an engagement roll. That's a stat test. No forking.

You're right. Frak. That might have been cool and given the players a real reason to take those -wises. Anyway, I guess you can justify the "-wises" in battle as that your character has a great deal of experience fighting that sort of creature and / or on that terrain.
If you're fighting a running battle through trees, forest-wise is a great FoRK. If the player makes it part of their intent its kosher. Like they drive their adversary into a heavily treed area to aid their strike or into rocky terrain where footing is tricky. But I wouldnt just allow it to be forked in because hey, we're in a forest.
