i think the thing BWHQ hasn't done is BW with modern LP settings, rules for Firefight, maybe some new kind of 'cloak and dagger' investigatory conflict mechanics, and maybe some combination of near-future technological add-ins. such a game would make for a great summer secret surprise.

my other guess (read:dream) is a wushu setting. it would save me lots of work, cuz lifepath burning is hard and time consuming...

I would love lifepaths and stuff for doing Burning Empires in Peter F Hamilton's Night's Dawn universe. That would be totally awesome!

Yes! Please let it be this. I had such hopes when Thor became editor. I can picture it now:
Artesia: Adventures in the Burning World
a 22 volume epic (one for each arcana) in full colour!

Honestly, I think BWHQ should take a stand against the Supplement Treadmill™. I say, let the Summer Secret Surprise for '09 be... NOTHING!

    Ok, I'm kidding.

If you're going to go to the trouble of licensing something from WotC, why wouldn't it be D&D? Burning Dungeons!

Because the only way HASBORG would let that happen would be to buy out BWHQ, and make BW look like 4E....

A modern (gritty) espionage genre game would be a nice one but I don't think this is a realistic guess.

More realistic guess would be the publishing of BWHQ's own house setting that I suppose has been the basis for life paths in BW.
