Circles: Failed Results Examples
I figure we could have some fun and practical learning by posting failed Circles results from our games. Or even just fun ideas that never happened at the table, but are cool anyways.
Straight Up Enmity Clause:
-The Intent: Dvalen is looking to learn Rune Casting. He tries to Circles up a Runesmith to instruct him. He fails.
-The Result: He finds a drunk Runesmith that belongs to an outright hostile clan. He soon casts a doom on the Warrior and becomes a regular nemesis during the campaign.
Instant Nemesis:
-The Intent: Petronax was looking for trouble. He purposely Circles up an very difficult-to-find friendly wizard in the middle of the backwoods. He fails with relish.
-The Result: He meets Bargle the Infamous on the ferry. Bargle is to Petronax as Snape is to James Potter. Petronax taunts him merciless. Bargle vows revenge once and for all and becomes a recurring villain.
Not-Very-Good-At-What-He-Does:
-The Intent: To find a swordsmith to create a new weapon. Failed.
-The Result: The swordsmith eagerly takes the job and the coin. Days pass, the adventurer returns for the sword, but it's poor quality! The swordsmith shrugs his shoulders and says it was the best he could do. Thank heavens, he wasn't a healer!
Politically Dangerous:
-The Intent: Priest Pak is looking for a healer to heal his friend the healer in order heal his other wounded friend. He fails.
-The Result: Priest Pak finds an outcast healer that is looked upon with suspicion. By allowing him to heal his friend, Priest Pak and his friends are now viewed with the same suspicion, making it harder to sway the village.
